Meet Randall Callaway
LMFT | Board Approved Secondary Supervisor | Lead Clinician
Randy Callaway is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, board-approved secondary supervisor, and Lead Clinician at Human First Mental Wellness. He specializes in compulsive sexual behavior, sex and pornography addiction, relationship repair, and recovery.
Randy works with individuals and couples facing concerns that are often difficult to discuss openly. His approach offers a balance of compassion and accountability, helping clients address harmful patterns, understand what drives them, and move toward healthier choices without being reduced to their past behavior.
He also facilitates therapeutic groups designed to replace shame and secrecy with education, connection, structure, and meaningful accountability. His work creates space for honest conversations, stronger relationships, and lasting change.
As a secondary clinical supervisor, Randy provides clinical consultation, professional development, and thoughtful guidance to the Human First team, particularly when navigating complex cases.
Meet Casey Kanarek
LCSW | Telehealth Therapist
Casey Kanarek is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in trauma, relationship concerns, and couples therapy. She helps clients explore how past experiences, protective responses, and unresolved emotional wounds may be shaping their present relationships and overall well-being.
Casey’s approach is compassionate, grounded, and refreshingly honest. She creates a safe space for individuals and couples to have difficult conversations, understand recurring patterns, improve communication, and begin rebuilding trust.
Her work is focused on helping clients feel understood while developing healthier, more meaningful ways to connect—with themselves and with the people who matter most.
Casey provides therapy through telehealth and is also licensed to practice in New Jersey.
Meet Daphinee Austin
LCSW | Telehealth Therapist
Daphinee Austin is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who works with teens, families, and therapy groups. She brings warmth, patience, and a natural ability to connect with young people—without making them feel like they are sitting through another adult lecture.
Daphinee helps clients navigate big emotions, communication challenges, behavioral concerns, family conflict, life transitions, and the everyday pressures that come with being a teenager. She creates a supportive space where teens can feel genuinely heard while helping families better understand one another.
Her approach combines compassionate support with practical strategies that clients can use at home, at school, and in everyday life. The goal is not perfection—it is stronger communication, healthier coping, and meaningful progress that families can actually feel.
Daphinee provides therapy through telehealth and is also licensed to practice in New Jersey.
Meet Jeff Carson
LADC, LCPC | Clinical Consultant and Group Facilitator
Jeff Carson is a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with extensive experience in behavioral health leadership, substance use treatment, and co-occurring mental health concerns.
In addition to serving as a clinical director with another organization, Jeff supports Human First as a clinical consultant and co-occurring disorders group facilitator.
Jeff understands that substance use rarely exists on its own. His work explores the connections among emotional well-being, trauma, substance use, relationships, and long-standing behavioral patterns—always keeping the whole person at the center.
His approach is knowledgeable, straightforward, and compassionate. Jeff combines education, practical tools, meaningful accountability, and real-world support to help clients understand their patterns and create changes they can sustain beyond treatment.
Meet Idan Edry
Behavioral Profiling and Digital Safety Consultant
Idan Edry is a behavioral profiling specialist and former member of the Israel Defense Forces. His work focuses on cyberbullying, social media behavior, digital safety, and identifying risks within online environments.
Idan helps people better understand how digital spaces can shape behavior, identity, emotional well-being, and relationships—especially for teens growing up in a world where being “offline” is apparently no longer part of the plan.
As a consultant with Human First, he provides education and practical guidance for teens, parents, families, schools, and professionals navigating the increasingly complicated online world. His work addresses cyberbullying, unhealthy digital interactions, social media pressure, behavioral warning signs, online risk, and strategies for creating safer, healthier boundaries.
Idan’s role is educational and consultative. His services complement—but do not replace—clinical mental health assessment or treatment.
Meet Danielle Baptiste
LCPC | Telehealth Therapist
Danielle Baptiste is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who provides telehealth therapy for teens, adults, individuals, families, and groups.
Danielle has a natural ability to help people feel comfortable, understood, and genuinely supported—even when the conversation involves something difficult, vulnerable, or deeply personal. She creates a welcoming space where clients can be honest without fear of judgment or pressure to have everything figured out.
Her approach combines warmth, compassion, and practical guidance. Danielle helps clients strengthen coping skills, improve communication, work through family and relationship challenges, and build greater confidence in themselves and their decisions.
She meets clients exactly where they are and helps them move forward at a pace that feels manageable, meaningful, and true to their needs.
Insurance and Credentialing Specialist
This specialist will help clients and providers navigate the wonderfully simple, never-confusing world of insurance. In other words, help is on the way.
For clients, this specialist will help clarify insurance information, investigate claim concerns, and identify questions that may need to be addressed directly with the insurance company.
For clinicians, they will manage credentialing applications, payer follow-up, enrollment updates, renewals, and group-linkage tasks—allowing providers to spend more time caring for clients and less time waiting on hold with insurance companies.
Insurance verification is not a guarantee of payment. Final coverage and reimbursement decisions are made by the insurance company.
Meet Crystal Valavala
Administrative Assistant
Crystal Valavala is an Administrative Assistant at Human First Mental Wellness and one of the helpful humans keeping things organized behind the scenes.
She supports clients with scheduling, paperwork, general questions, and the many small—but important—details involved in beginning and continuing services. Crystal helps make the administrative side of therapy feel clear, welcoming, and a little less overwhelming.
With a warm, dependable, and detail-oriented approach, she works closely with clients and providers to keep communication flowing and day-to-day operations running smoothly.
Crystal understands that reaching out for support can feel like a big step. Her goal is to make the process easier from the very first interaction—because paperwork may be part of therapy, but it should not require therapy to complete.
Billing and Accounts Specialist
This specialist will help keep the financial side of care accurate, organized, and easier to understand—because therapy bills should not require their own therapy session.
This team member will serve as a point of contact for questions about statements, balances, payments, and account activity. Their goal is to make the billing process clearer, more responsive, and less overwhelming for clients and providers.
Please note: Our Billing and Accounts Specialist can explain charges and account activity but cannot guarantee insurance reimbursement or interpret an insurance plan on the payer’s behalf.
Founder & Vision
Emilyann Behar is a licensed psychotherapist and the founder of Human First Mental Wellness. Born in Central California and raised on Long Island, New York, she is also the wife of a first responder and veteran and the proud mother of two amazing children.
Emilyann is cut from a different cloth—vibrant, deeply human, and proudly the opposite of boring. She loves sushi, sings and dances whenever the mood strikes, and tries to spread positivity like fairy dust. She is also still learning, growing, and figuring out life as she goes—just like everyone else.
In addition to her clinical work, Emilyann is a podcaster, entrepreneur, author, and doctoral student studying forensic and industrial-organizational psychology.
She created Human First around one simple belief: before we are professionals, parents, partners, first responders, caregivers, or leaders, we are human—and the care we receive should reflect that.
Her approach to therapy is warm, honest, practical, and rooted in genuine connection. Emilyann supports individuals and families navigating trauma, relationship challenges, major life transitions, emotional overwhelm, and the exhaustion that comes from carrying too much for too long.
She is especially committed to serving first responders and their families. Her personal and professional experience gives her a genuine understanding of how service, shift work, repeated exposure to stress, and time away from home can affect both first responders and the people who love them.
Therapy with Emilyann is not about judgment, labels, or pretending life is more polished than it really is. It is a place to speak honestly, understand what may be happening beneath the surface, and develop tools that make a meaningful difference beyond the therapy room.
You do not need to arrive with everything figured out. Come as you are. We’ll start with a Human First pulse check—figuratively speaking—and take the next steps together. This is your journey, but you don’t have to travel it alone.
